Lightwork or Devilwork?

Lightworkers around the globe have been faced with a stigma for years, that we are performing the devil’s work, by bringing healing, compassion and understanding to client’s through readings, Reiki, holistic measures, meditation and light working.

Recently, a ‘colleague’ put together an event, where myself, and another psychic medium would deliver messages from above, with proceeds going to a local charity.

It sounded like a great plan.

But the first charity that was approached, turned us away, stating that they refused to accept money from anyone doing the Devil’s work.

Fine.

We moved onto another local charity.   Again, we were told that they refused to accept money from anyone doing the Devil’s work.

This time, I felt frustrated.

You see, I am a lightworker.   Which means, I pray to God, I work with God, the angels, Spirit Guides, Animal Totems, Universal energies, to help bring healing, understanding and compassion to my clients, my friends and my family.

Am I Christian?  No, I don’t identify myself with a specific religion.

However, I spent every Sunday at Sunday school with my Mennonite grandparents until I was 12, I was the lead of the church choir for 3 years, attended 4 different Bible camps every summer from the age of 6-14, and was a part of a ‘youth group’ for a short period of my teen years.  (This experience is a story for another day).  I know Bible verses, I can sing church songs like no tomorrow.  I get the core concepts of various Religious beliefs, and I adapt them into my every day living.

In my work, I meditate regularly, I connect with Source/God energy to bring forward messages and healing to help myself and my clients move forward through their tribulations. I accept my clients, my friends and my family for where they are at.   I don’t judge their life path, or where they are headed, but rather open my heart to share love with them.

I am by no means perfect.  In fact, there are days when I am tired of the work I do, days where I lose my temper, days when I don’t believe in a God of any type, and days where I curse up a storm.

But do I work with the Devil?  Does the money I make in my business come from a place of hell rather than healing?  Is the work I do a sin, and therefore, all of my clients sinners?

dalai

I wonder whether these organizations would tell Jesus that they wouldn’t accept his money?  After all, he healed others, by lending compassion and understanding; by teaching others to love each other, to forgive.  He encouraged others to have a relationship with God, to love themselves and each other.  He used his hands to bring healing, not from himself, but rather from his Father, God.

I wonder how badly these organizations need money to do their ‘work of God’ when they so willingly turn down money that is being given to them.

These organizations that we contacted are not the first to do so around the globe.

In the early 2000’s, Red Cross denied a $1 million dollar donation from the Dixie Chicks, for comments they made about their political beliefs.

In 2016, a woman was fired from a 17 year gig from Operation Christmas Child for supporting beliefs such as same sex marriage and abortion.

In this day and age, when our country is so diverse in it’s cultures, religious beliefs, upbringings, families, sexualities, etc, how can we, as a society possibly show any judgement, non-acceptance and discrimination towards anyone?   What gives a charitable organization the right to turn away money from well meaning people based on their own religious beliefs, judgements and view points?  At what point do we step away from being the Judge ourselves and let God become the judge at the end, like it is stated in the Bible?

I have nothing against Christians, Catholics, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, Muslims, Atheists or any other religious groups.

I believe that there are many paths to God, just as there are many paths to New York City.  Some may take a plane, some may take a train, some may walk, some may drive on one highway, while others will drive on another.   It doesn’t mean that any one of us is wrong, but rather that we have chosen a different path, and who am I to judge that?

Let’s stop the judgements already.  Let’s act as God, and find acceptance in everyone, regardless of their religious beliefs, culture, viewpoints, sexuality, and living situations.

If we truly want to make the world a better place, we need to stop pointing the finger to the ‘apparent devil workers’ and instead look within ourselves to see where we can put more love and acceptance into our work.

Until next time,

I Believe….

earth

Waking up this morning,  I am bombarded by fear, anger, and sadness about the results of the U.S election.  I am not an American citizen, and yet, as an energy worker, an empath, and a citizen of this world,  I am feeling the emotions of the collective.

Yesterday, we all sat, in front of our computers, our tv’s, and thought, it can’t possibly be, that someone who is so openly hateful to so many people will be President.  It didn’t work for Hitler… why would we choose that again??

And yet, it happened.

And what I can say is that even though we are different, we are being united by a common bond.  It doesn’t matter your religion, your beliefs, your gender, your sexuality, your status, all of these things that have separated us in the past, there are millions around the world that are all coming together to say that we don’t like this.  That this shadow that has presented itself must be turned into one of light.  That we must stand up for our fellow humanity, that we must protect each other from the hate, that we must love one another, and stand together as one.

And for that, I can thank you, Mr. Trump.  Your Soul’s energy must be quite a strong one, to be able to bring forth such a shadow, to spew so much hate, and to be the one, who is allowing the rest of us to see that a change must be made.  You have brought voice to the many hateful thoughts that so many have had whirling in their heads, and you have given them an open door to get their own shadows out there in the open. For this, I can thank you.

For you have given myself, and all other lightworkers,  an open door to step through, to allow our lights to begin to shine in the darkest of places.  This is an opportunity for us to see what we can do to help our fellow brothers and sisters, to shine light on our own shadows, so that we can become beacons of light everywhere across the world.

I believe in love.   I believe in peace.  I believe in hope.  I believe in a better future for our children.  This will happen.

For all of you reading this, I ask you to find within yourself, a way to bring love to each situation you’re in, from this day forward.  I ask you to show compassion to the teenager at the drivethru who got your order wrong; the mom who you believe isn’t doing a good enough job; the one who’s sexuality you don’t understand; the one who is too lazy at work; the one who gets on your nerves; the one who hates so openly…. find love in your heart… spread kindness, show compassion.  This is how we will change the world; one act of forgiveness, of kindness, of compassion and understanding at a time.

Let’s unite together to raise the vibrations that are being shook to their core right now.

We can do this.  I believe.

Until next time,

xoCatherine

A Journey Into My Heart

I really wasn’t sure what I was in for when I signed up for a Sacred Bean Cacao Ceremony.  All I knew was that it made me feel excited, it was connected to the Mayans, and I would be drinking a cacao drink~~ it sounded like a great evening for me.

And let me say, it went beyond my expectations, even though I had none to begin with, for how the evening would play out.

Peter, our shaman for the evening has been working with the cacao bean for years, and was told, prior to even knowing what these ceremonies were all about, that he would be doing them.  And I can see why.  His energy is calm, and knowledgeable and he holds a wisdom in his aura about what each person will experience.

The evening started off with some scientific backing as to why this stuff works.  Basically, it enlarges your heart; it opens you up to feeling your heart center, and removing any blockages.  This strain of cacao bean is the only one that is able to do that, as it is not processed, or heated past a certain point that takes it’s properties.

Peter let us all choose our own cacao bean.  As soon as I had mine in my hand, I felt my energy begin to shift.  I rubbed it, I held it, and I wanted to taste a bit of it.  We had been told that they can be quite bitter (especially compared to what we are used to) and so I hesitated in tasting mine.  The bean looks no different than I would expect it to~~ small, smooth, very little smell, however it was much smoother and lighter than I would have thought.

20161108_233400.jpg

As our ceremony began, we called in the energies from the West, North, East and South.  As we activated the West, I fingered my bean, and thought how I would like to taste it.  A piece literally crumbled into my fingers, and so I put it in my mouth, and was pleasantly surprised at the taste.  I found it to be almost tasteless but enough sweetness to make it enjoyable… and that’s where my journey began.

As we went from each direction, I had animal spirits coming forward…

a lion (As such, lions symbolizes emotions that are difficult to manage, such a anger or fear.)

a wolf (Wolves are wild animals that are not easily domesticated and when they appear as spirit guides, they could be an invitation to look at what supports your authentic self and the true expression of yourself. The wolf totem is a reminder to keep your spirit alive and trust your instincts to find the way that will best suit you.)

and a bear (The spirit of the bear is a strong source of support in times of difficulty. It provides courage and a stable foundation to face challenges. When the bear shows up as a spirit guide in your life, it’s perhaps time to stand for your beliefs or your truth. This power animal will provide for support and strength.  The bear is also a guide to take leadership in your life or in other people’s lives. This animal is feared and admired for its strength. Its presence inspires respect. Its strength and powerful stature will inspire you to step into a leadership role in your life and take action without fear.  Interestingly, in Siberia, the name used to designate women shaman is the same as the word “bear”. In Northern America, in the Inuit tradition, the bear spirit animal is also connected to the shamanic tradition and women.

As we went to the higher world, I had a woman’s face in a star show up and smile at me, and as we invited in our ancestors, another woman, this one much older, wiser, and familiar came forward.  She smiled at me and her eyes crinkled…. she was so joyful.  At this point I was overcome with emotion… pure gratitude for those who were coming forward for me.

At the beginning of the session, we were invited to play in whatever way Spirit led us to do.  We were given markers, pencil crayons, oil pastels and paper.  There were instruments of all different kinds to make music with, crystals to hold onto, and smudging materials to cleanse ourselves with if we chose.

I drew and wrote a lot.  Spirit continued to come forward with many messages for me.  I started off with my hands tied behind my back, my heart closed to anything and everything that the Universe had to offer me.   The song, ‘Sweet Caroline’ started humming in my head, and I keep thinking of the ‘Bon, bon, bon!’ that everyone loves to join in on.  What I realized in my journey into my heart, was that this closed off heart, the one that is afraid to love fully, to connect deeply with others, simply needed to reach out, to connect with others, to break the chains that have been binding me (the chains being there because I created them)  It seems I have spent many lifetimes alone, as connecting with others would only bring hurt.  This time around I have filled my life with so many, and yet, don’t always feel the connection…. because I won’t allow it to happen (with myself either)

As we continued to journey forward, I found myself being transformed like a butterfly, stepping into my power, and embracing my full feminine divine.  I was reminded of the wisdom that I carry within me, and the wisdom that the feminine divine within me carries as well.  I (like all of us) am a Creator in my world.  I am able to create that which I am wanting to see, into my life.  The only thing that will stop me, is myself, if I allow it.

As my journey came to an end, I was greeted with an Owl, sitting at a desk.  He had a book for me, that was locked, and then handed me the key, and told me that the book was now mine to use and implement whenever I was guided to.  The book was a Book of Wisdom.  As I came home and read what the animal message for Own is, it only makes sense that Owl showed up.

( The owl spirit animal is emblematic of a deep connection with wisdom and intuitive knowledge. If you have the owl as totem or power animal, you’re likely to have the ability to see what’s usually hidden to most. When the spirit of this animal guides you, you can see the true reality, beyond illusion and deceit. The owl also offers for those who have it a personal totem the inspiration and guidance necessary to deeply explore the unknown and the magic of life.)

This was the perfect gift to end the ceremony and I felt as though my journey was completed.  I received answers that I needed to hear, while also shedding layers of fears, hurts, angers and disappointments that I no longer wished to carry with me.

20161108_231421.jpg

Every person that attended, had a unique experience… some drawing, some dancing, some chanting and singing, some playing music~~ but one thing that remained the same was the childlike joy and wonderment that we all felt at the end.

If you haven’t had a chance to do a Sacred Bean Ceremony yet, I highly suggest you do~~ you won’t be disappointed with the love you receive.

Until next time,

The Dark Side of a ‘Healer’

Imagine this.  Your life has been disrupted.  You found out you have a disease.  Or there was a death in the family.  A divorce.  Childhood abuse is coming forward as an adult.  And you are looking for help.  You are vulnerable and afraid.  You need someone who will help you work through these emotions, someone who has a strength that you have forgotten you possess; someone you can trust, and tell your fears to.  Where do you go?  Who do you seek?

This is the first time I have talked about an experience I had last summer on a public forum.  I have spoken to girlfriends, and some healer colleagues of mine about my experience, and now I want to share it with you.

On a trip to the grocery store, a man waved at me from his vehicle.  I gave a half wave, not recognizing who he was and parked my vehicle.  As I walked into the store, he pulled up beside me, and asked if I was married.  I replied yes, and he said, yah, I knew it.  Can you give me a moment of your time.  I have some things from Spirit to share with you.

Being a healer, a psychic, I was kind of excited.  I was going to have my own little ‘Theresa Caputo’ moment, a reading from a perfect stranger.  I followed him to his car.  He was a good looking man~~ dressed in white spiritual garb (flowing clothes) with a rose quartz around his neck.  More crystals hung from his sun visor, and he had a guitar in his front seat.  He told me he was on his way back home after doing a spiritual retreat.

Claiming that he didn’t have enough room in his own vehicle, he asked if we could move to my vehicle so he could give me a reading.  A few alarms went off in my head, but I thought what could possibly go wrong?  He is a spiritual man, as I am a spiritual woman.

When we got into my vehicle, he started telling me some personal stuff about my relationship with my husband.  He was quite accurate, and I found myself relaxing, thinking ‘this is good’.  He then brought up my trust issues.   They stem from childhood sexual abuse, and reoccurring patterns that have come into adulthood.

He claimed that the only way for me to trust, would be to touch him in the most intimate place a man has.  I paused for a second and then put my hand on his heart chakra.  This annoyed him, and he said again, ‘If you want to learn to trust, you MUST touch me in the most intimate place a man has’.  He pointed to his crotch.  I told him ‘No’.  After some more pressure, and my continually saying ‘No’, he asked me ‘Why I didn’t want to move forward through my trust issues’.

I told him if my Guides wanted me to learn my lesson, they would find another way to bring the lesson forward to me.  And then asked him to get out of the vehicle.  He slammed his fist into the dashboard and got out.

I breathed a sigh of relief… I was safe, and the situation could have been worst than what it was.

Why am I bringing this up?

Because this could have been you.  Or anyone, really.  And you may not have been strong enough to say no.  I know I wasn’t strong enough to walk away when he first approached me.  And I know that I am not the first woman to fall prey to a ‘spiritual man’ claiming to be able to ‘heal’ through sexual measures.

This is the dark side of the healer.  The one who represents themselves as being able to help others, but only preys on their vulnerabilities.  The ones who tell you they will cure your cancer for X amount of dollars.  The ones who say that they have gifts that no one else does, and so you must perform XYZ with them, in order to be healed of all of your problems.

While healing energy treatments can play an important role in one’s self care, for physical, spiritual and emotional wellness, it is not the cure.  Healing comes from within, and a healer is only there to ‘facilitate the healing’, meaning the energy is flowing through them, into you (through hands-on energy transfer, on a fully clothed body).  Everyone has their own healing abilities within them, and therefore, none of us ‘need’ anyone to ‘heal’ us, regardless of what some may claim.

Just as there is a balance of light and dark in the skies, and within ourselves, so too, is there light and dark among the healing world.

A ‘true healer’ will never pressure you to go further than you want to go.  They want to help you, in a way that is comfortable to you.  They may give you suggestions on healing treatments to try, different ideas to think about, etc. BUT they will leave the ball in your court as to how much they are willing to do.  Yes, they will ask to be paid for their time, however, most will work with you if you can’t afford their services.  They may also suggest other healers in your area that would be able to help with your issues, to give you more choices.

A ‘dark healer’ will pressure you, even when you get uncomfortable.  They may ask for large sums of money to perform healing on you, that they claim, only they can do.  They may get angry or berate you if you choose not to go through with their services, or they may pressure you to believe they are the only choice.

If you are looking for a healer, for what ever you are going through, I ask you (perhaps beg you) to follow your heart and your intuition to guide you to the perfect fit for you; to find a healer who is compassionate, understanding and caring, and has your highest good at heart.

Until next time,

xoCatherine

Let That Sh*t Go (or Trifold Dimensions)

A few weeks ago, I had a chance to learn a new modality, Trifold Dimensions.  The Trifold, as I like to call it, is a hands on energy technique, based on the Access Consciousness Body foundations and helps with releasing shock and trauma from a person’s body, at a cellular level.  And I have to say, I am actually really impressed with this technique.

Being a healer, who is certified in many different techniques, I have been witness to some awesome healings, clarity, and understanding that these techniques can bring.  With the Trifold however, the healing is happening in a different and deeper way.

First off, let’s talk about what shock and trauma actually are.  Most think that shock or trauma are caused when we go through catastrophic events, such as a death, car accident, abusive relationship, or divorce.  However, trauma and shock can be the simpler things in life as well, such as getting an unexpected high bill, or as a child, being told no to that cookie before supper.  Because we have different ways of reacting to situations based on our own emotional and mental abilities, a child being told no can be just as traumatic for them as an adult losing their job.

When this trauma happens, it creates a new energetic pattern within the body, that we hold on to.  So say, you were the child who was told no to that cookie, and you threw a temper tantrum.  Your mom, who is trying to make supper, yells, and states no again.  This only upsets you more, and you start to cry harder.  Your mom is unable to calm you down, nor does she have the patience for it.   An energetic pattern has been set.

As you get older, every time you ask for something and are told ‘no’, you react the same way you did at 2.  Because the feelings that you had were not addressed, and caused trauma at the time, you always revert back to being a 2 year old being told no.

Now this of course would be an extreme case, but shows an easy glimpse into how these shocks and traumas of our lives can begin to play out into patterns that we hold onto, and ruts that we can get stuck in.

During a Trifold Dimensions treatment, you are able to access these patterns and the trauma that is associated with them.  During my own, I was able to see the patterns of my own anger that had stemmed from a child who was sexually abused.  Every time I witness someone doing something that is against the law (whether a child sneaking a snack or breaking basic rules, a driver not following the rules of the road, etc) I am fuming angry.  During the Trifold that I received, I realized that my anger stemmed from my molestor, who also didn’t follow the rules.  Knowing this, I have been able to release a lot of the anger that had built up through the years, towards him, and anyone I viewed to be ‘just like him’.

For my clients, I have witnessed healing from sexual assault, abandonment, abuse, betrayal, and feeling unloved.  The healing that is taking place is taking away years of hurt, anger, and confusion, and replacing it with understanding, love and compassion.

If you have been feeling stuck in a rut, stuck in the same energetic patterns, or just wanting to let that sh*t go, a Trifold Dimensions treatment may be exactly what you need.

It’s never too late to start over again… take a chance today to let that sh*t go.

Breaking the Myths of Psychics and Healers

Psychics and healers.   The words bring forth many definitions, depending on your opinion and upbringing.  Some think ‘I want to know my future!’; some think ‘EVIL!’; and some think ‘FAKE!’.   What I have come to realize though, is that for many, we have been misinformed as a society about what a psychic and/or healer actually does.  Movies and tv shows only give a glimpse into the work of those who have chosen a path of this sort, and the general consensus of a poll in Canada by Reader’s Digest, claimed that psychics are the least trusted professions, beating out politicians and lawyers!

First, let’s talk about what each of these professions mean.

A psychic, known in mainstream media, is one who sees the future, and predicts what is going to happen.  However, the word psychic is actually derived from the Greek word, psykhikos, which means ‘Of the Soul, Spirit or Mind’.   To be psychic literally means to be ‘working from the Soul, or the Spirit’.

An intuitive, like a psychic, is also connected into the subtle energy fields, and uses this information that they are picking up on to deliver messages.

A medium is one who connects in with Spirit who has crossed over, and delivers messages to their loved ones.

A healer is one who has been trained in different energy medicines to alter the energetic fields of their client to promote whole health and wellness.

Someone in these professions may classify themselves as being an Intuitive Psychic Healer, or an Intuitive Medium, or any combination of the words.  It all depends on what feels right to each individual.  They know their gifts, and they know what they are able to do with them.

As an Intuitive Psychic Medium and Healer,

I want to shed some light on some of the most common myths and mistruths of my profession, and hopefully answer some questions you may have!

  1. PSYCHICS/HEALERS DO EVIL WORK
Quite the opposite is true actually.  Every psychic and healer I know of personally, is working with the intention of helping others heal the pains and hurts in their lives, connect them with those they are grieving or empower themselves to take a lead in their lives.
Of the psychics and healers I know, not one of them connects in with a dark energy, the Devil, or any other ‘voodoo’ type of energy.  In fact, when I talk to them, they talk about God, a Source Energy, a Love Energy.
Their intention is one of love, healing, compassion and understanding, exactly what all religions preach for us to live every day.
2.  PSYCHIC/HEALERS ARE ALWAYS ‘ON’.
Like the average citizen, psychics and healers are able to ‘walk away’ from their job, when they are needing to rest, or have time off.  No, we aren’t all like Theresa Caputo, walking up to strangers to deliver messages.  Many of us will protect and ground ourselves, when we are out in high traffic areas, as messages, and energy can be overwhelming for those of us who are sensitive to the subtle energies.  To be ‘on’ all of the time, would be exhausting!
That being said, for those of us who connect with Spirit who have crossed over, Spirit will, at times come forward to deliver a message, even when we are not sitting with their loved one.  In fact, I have been woken up from a dead sleep to write down a message from Spirit more than once.  I have had Spirit connect with me weeks prior to a client even booking an appointment.
3.  PSYCHICS/HEALERS SHOULD BE FREE AS IT’S A GIFT
Yes, we have a gift, from God, that allows us to connect into a subtle energy to bring forth messages.  Just as a doctor has a gift to diagnose and heal patients.  And a mechanic has a gift to look at vehicles and fix them.   The truth is, psychics and healers have families, homes, needs (food, water, shelter) and dreams, just like you and I do.  Just as you are paid to work, so should we.
Each psychic and healer determines how much they will be making per session.  Some of these are cheaper than others.  This doesn’t mean one is better than another.  Most likely it has to do with how much the psychic or healer values about the work that they do, and their own confidence in their abilities.
I have seen some who charge as little as $10/session and some who charge upwards of $1000/session.   This is where you as a sitter get to decide how much you are willing to pay to have a reading or healing session done.
And there are exceptions.  There have been times when I have been guided to give a reading at no cost to the client.  There have been times when I have guided to do the reading or session at a lower price.
All in all though, a psychic or healer deserves to be paid, just as much as the mailman, the doctor, or any other profession.
4.  A REAL PSYCHIC/HEALER HAS HAD THE GIFT SINCE BIRTH
You hear about these phenomenon often~~ children who are born with a gift of seeing or knowing.  And this is true for many.  Even more true though, are the people who realize their gifts later in life, through trial and error, quite often after they experience a life changing moment (death of a loved one, car accident, divorce, etc) and begin to search for deeper answers.
The truth is, we all have the ability to be a psychic or a healer.  Just as we all have the ability to be a scientist, a musician, or an athlete.  It is whether we choose to allow ourselves to strengthen these aspects of ourselves or not.
I have one child who was born with a gift of seeing~~ he was able to tell me what people were doing across town (and this was confirmed); able to tell me about our past lives together (also confirmed) and able to see a young man who had crossed over, and describe him to a ‘T’.  When he was 8, he turned this off, and it hasn’t been turned on again since.
I remember moments when I was a child where I had gut feelings about situations only to have them come true.  Was this a psychic premonition?  Was it my spirit guides warning me?  I’m not sure to this day, however, now, after years of developing my gifts, I am able to tell the differences between the two.
5.  OUR LIVES ARE PERFECT
This one is probably the farthest from the truth.  I often have people say, well why don’t you just play the lottery?  Or, shouldn’t you have picked up on that situation, after all you are psychic.
Yes, I am psychic, but it doesn’t mean I’ve got my shit together.  In fact, I go and see other psychics to have readings done on me (especially when my own readings on myself are not giving me the answers that I want! )
As psychics and healers, we have often chosen a tougher path, with more extreme relationships, life experiences, than the average person, to bring ourselves a greater understanding of the human experience.
This means we have lost those who are close to us, we have gone through rough break ups, we have had falling outs with family members, have had diseases, have gone bankrupt, have lost jobs, lost houses, and yet, we are still filled with hope and love and understanding.
We know that we have lessons to go through, and that by going through those lessons, we are able to help others.  By helping ourselves, and working on our own spiritual journey, we are able to connect in deeper, and stronger with our clients and with the spirit world.
The next time you go for a reading, or a healing session, remember, that your psychic/healer/medium/intuitive, is just another person, learning to grow their gifts, to live their passion, and ultimately, to help you on your journey to becoming the best you you can be.
Until next time,
xoCatherine
