Turn Up the Music and Turn Up Your Manifesting!

Music is a gift from the Universe, with it’s own magical power of making us feel happy, excited, or sad, in a matter of a couple of notes.  If I asked you the first song that comes to mind when you think of your first heart break, I am sure you have one, without putting too much thought into it.  And if I ask you what song pumps you up, I’m sure you have one of those as well.

Whether you’re all up to date on the Law of Attraction, the power of positive thinking and the Law of Abundance or not, music is an easy way for you to start creating more of what you do want in your life.

Simply put, just put on your favorite pump up song, start dancing and visualize what it is  you are wanting to achieve in your life.   It really is that simple!

Two years ago, I heard of this concept, and so I decided to give it a try.   Every day, I would listen to ‘Lose Control’ by Hedley~~ rather than singing ‘When I hear that rock and roll, oh my God, I lose control’ I would sing, ‘When I hear that manifesto, oh my God I lose control’ and it became my own personal anthem from the Universe, pumping me up to live the life I was dreaming of.

The reason this works is that manifesting requires you to be excited about what it is you are trying to attract in your life.  So if you’re just sitting there being all ‘meh’ about what you are wanting to have in your life, the Universe responds with the same feeling….they give you more to be ‘meh’ about.   But if you’re dancing around, jumping for joy, feeling full on ecstatic and visualizing what you are wanting at the same time, the Universe has no choice but to grab hold of that energy and return it back to you with the same gusto.

Back to my dancing in the living room~~ I would listen to this song, and I would see myself, on stage, speaking my truth…about my latest book, the newest concepts in energy healing and people loved it.   There was gold falling from the sky and surrounding me.   At one point, I stood with  Jacob Hoggard, the lead singer of Hedley and he and I bounced around the stage together to the song.   I thought, Man I would love to see them perform this in concert!

Less than a month later, I had a client message me.  She had two tickets for the Hedley concert that she wasn’t going to be able to use.   She asked if I wanted them.  Of course I did!  And so, within 4 months of me visualizing, and having that one thought, I was watching them perform the song.

Anytime I am needing that extra boost to get myself pumped up for my next move in business, taking a chance on myself, I throw on the good music and state my intentions.

Give it a try!

You Can Let Go Now, Mommy

10 years ago today I received my Life Coaching certification and Journey Healers was born. It’s changed a lot over the years, as I have grown as an individual and as a business, while also developing my own spiritual gifts and talents.

But, back then, 10 years ago, my children were all much smaller, and being a mom, going into business, I thought, ‘How selfish of me to want to do this for me? What about my kids?!’

The day that I was certified, my family took me out to dinner to celebrate. I was coming up with every excuse in the book as to why I probably shouldn’t open a business, my kids being the number one excuse (they still needed their mom, what if I was too busy for them, what if I disappointed them, etc) Really, what my mind was telling me was ‘You are not good enough to be anything other than a mom; your own needs are not important, what if I disappointed me’.

When we arrived to the restaurant, and I was still using my fear-based excuses as to what I was going to do to move forward, we walked through the parking lot, with me holding onto my then-2-year-old daughter’s hand.

She looked up at me and ever so gently said, ‘You can let go now, Mommy’; just as I was saying, ‘the kids need me’.

I looked at her, and thought WOW, you’ve spoken to my Soul kid!

She took my hand from mine and said, ‘We at the sidewalk mommy, I big girl, don’t need your hand’. And ran up ahead to catch up with her brothers.

It was that moment, with her mind focused on the safety of the sidewalk, and my mind focused on the safety of my children, that I was able to break through the fear of becoming a mompreneur and allow myself to get started.

Fear was a big factor in the beginning. It stopped me from growing big for many years, however, I have been able to overcome it and step fully into my purpose as an intuitive, healer and most importantly mother.

Every year, my kids tell me that they are impressed with my business. Every day they ask me about when I have clients, or what my latest project is, and a few times they have told me, that because they have seen my struggle and triumph as an entrepeneur they know that they too, can achieve what they want to put their mind to.

Our fears, our limitations and our obstacles are designed to keep us small and make us safe. It is only when we give ourselves permission to let go that we can truly soar.
